چکیده

Copper-catalyzed ortho-benzoxylation of 2-arylpyridine sp(2) C-H bonds with acyl chloride is described. Notably, switching the base from t-BuOK to Li(2)CO(3) causes chlorination of the C-H bond to take place.

Palladium(II)-catalyzed othro-C-H-benzoxylation of 2-arylpyridines by oxidative coupling with aryl acylperoxides.

A palladium(II)-catalyzed ortho-benzoxylation of 2-arylpyridines with aryl acylperoxides was developed. With pyridyl as directing group, the benzoxylation reaction exhibits remarkable regioselectivity and excellent functional group tolerance, providing the products in up to 87% yield.

Palladium-catalyzed ortho-functionalization of azoarenes with aryl acylperoxides.

With the aid of an azo directing group, Pd-catalyzed ortho-sp(2) C-H bond activation/functionalization of azoarenes with aryl acyl peroxides has been explored. This transformation provides easy access to regioselectively introducing acyloxyl and aryl groups into azoarenes by simply changing the reaction temperature and solvent.

Copper-catalyzed regioselective ortho C-H cyanation of vinylarenes.

A copper-based catalytic technique for the regioselective ortho C-H cyanation of vinylarenes has been developed. This method provides an effective means for the selective functionalization of vinylarene derivatives. A copper-catalyzed cyanative dearomatization mechanism is proposed to account for the regiochemical course of this reaction.

Copper(I)-Catalyzed Nucleophilic Addition of Ynamides to Acyl Chlorides and Activated N-Heterocycles

The addition of ynamides to acyl chlorides and N-heterocycles activated in situ with ethyl chloroformate has been accomplished at room temperature using copper iodide as catalyst. This economical and practical carbon-carbon bond formation provides convenient access to a variety of 3-aminoynones from aliphatic and aromatic acyl chlorides in up to 99% yield. The addition to pyridines and quinolin...

Pivalophenone imine as a benzonitrile surrogate for directed C–H bond functionalization† †Electronic supplementary information (ESI) available. See DOI: 10.1039/c7sc01732d Click here for additional data file.

Pivalophenone N–H imine has been found to serve as a prominent substrate for directed C–H alkylation and arylation reactions with alkyl bromides and aryl chlorides, respectively, under cobalt–N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) catalysis. Unlike the case of the parent pivalophenone imine, the increased steric bulk of the resulting ortho-substituted pivalophenone imines allows them to undergo clean imi...
